1972 Oldsmobile 442
Description
1972 Oldsmobile 442
Crevier Classic Car is pleased to offer this exceptionally clean numbers-matching 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-29 Hardtop Coupe for your consideration. This 350ci V8 powered 442 routes power to the rear wheels through a four speed manual transmission. In 1972 only 1,121 442s were produced with the combination of the W-29 package, four speed manual, and in a hardtop coupe body style. The selling owner notes that this vehicle was purchased six-years ago out of Ohio where it received a complete restoration.
This example comes finished in a triple black color combination with the paint being Ebony Black, the vinyl roof being black, and the vinyl interior also being finished in black. With accenting chrome throughout the exterior and its distinct body lines, this ’72 442 is striking from every angle. Under the hood is an immaculately detailed engine bay where one can see the air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, and power brake booster.
The interior is as clean as the exterior with many of the original instructional tags still accompanying the vehicle. Everything from the gauges to the shifter boot are in good condition as shown in the pictures. Also accompanying the vehicle is the original build sheet.
Oldsmobile had their own A-body muscle car to go along with the Chevelle, GTO, and Gran Sport for the height of the muscle car era. In 1972, the 442 returned to an option package as some buyers wanted to be more conservative with rising gas prices and insurance rates. However, properly equipped examples (like this one) were still classic muscle examples that will get anyone’s heart pumping behind the wheel. These classics are known for their styling, performance, reliability, and availability of parts making them a great investment and a ton of fun.
