Description

1969 Dodge Dart GTS

1969 Dodge Dart GT Sport for your
consideration. This is an original 1969 LS23P8 GT Sport (not a clone) and is listed as the last
GTS vin on the GTS registry: https://gtsregistry.net/www.gtsregistry1969.com/index.html . This car is very late

production for the model year and is questioned to possibly be the last GTS built.

Finished in a beautiful B5 blue base coat – clear coat, with a black
vinyl top and black GT Sport bumblebee stripe, this Dart is a beauty! The inside is just as
appealing with the correct black Legendary bucket seat covers, door panels, correct woodgrain
4 spd console, Hurst console shifter, nice black dash pad & dash chrome, beautifully restored
wood grain rally steering wheel, Auto Meter Sport Comp gauges and a functional factory AM
Dart thumbwheel radio.

Under the hood is a whole different story. This car was originally a 340 small block 727
automatic car but now features a 500ci big block stroker with a 833 4 spd. Dyno’d at 582 HP @
5700 rpm and 619 lb-ft TQ @ 4000 – this is a torque MONSTER. The engine has all the
goodies: Speed-O-Motive 493ci short block, ported Edelbrock aluminum heads w/ Crane Gold
roller rockers, Performer RPM intake & Holley 950 cfm HP Double pumper, full MSD ignition
system, Million pro touring oil pan & pickup, TTI 2” ceramic coated chassis headers w/ full 3”
X-pipe exhaust. The 833 4 speed was rebuild using a Brewers Performance rebuild kit
including new synchronizers; combined with a 440 source flywheel, Centerforce 23 spline
clutch and rebuild Hurst competition plus shifter. Out back the 8 ¾ has large bolt pattern
Yukon axles with long studs. The 3 rd member is a freshly rebuilt 742 case with 3.23 gears and
a Clutch Type Sure-Grip (“Powr-lok”) and an adjustable pinion snubber.
Suspension has factory ’73-’76 A-Body 10.95″ Front Disc Brakes with matching long studs.
Front end suspension was rebuilt, using a firm feel fast ratio manual steering box, 340
Torsion bars & Sway bar and includes Bilstein shocks. Subframe has been tied, rear springs
moved into the frame rails and mini-tubbed, trunk mounted battery, Flaming River battery
disconnect switch, 15-gallon aluminum fuel cell in the truck. Overall, the entire powertrain has
less than 500 miles on it.

The bodywork is straight with the correct GTS emblems (custom 440ci hood inserts), grille,
T/Ls and very nice 1969 trunk finish panel. Bumpers were re-chromed and stainless was
polished. The Dart runs on a set of HoleShot 15″ Holestar 3-PC Wheels wrapped in Micky
Thompson M/T Sportsman S/R tires.

This 1969 Dodge Dart GT Sport is a blast to drive and gets complements whenever your
cruising. It runs on 93 octane plus and will light up the tires at will.
