1962 Chevrolet Corvette
Description
1962 Chevrolet Corvette
The last of the firsts…Do not miss this opportunity to own a really clean, original paint C1. These first generation cars were built from 1953 through 1962 and would commonly be called the “Solid Axle” Vettes. As head of GM Styling section, Harley Earl was an avid sports car fan and he recognized a need for small 2-seater sports cars post WWII as GI’s were bringing home MG’s, Jaguars’ and Alfa Romeos. The Corvette was also rushed due to the fact that Ford was working on its own 2-seat sports car called the Thunderbird. This is just a real honest 62 Corvette still wearing its original white lacquer paint with some very minor touch ups in the door jam area. The engine is a 327 Cubic Inch V8 without any numbers due to the engine being machined and decked at some point. The car has been just recently cosmetically restored with all new exhaust, tires, interior including carpet, convertible top and wiring harness. All mechanicals have been looked over and dealt with as needed. This is an incredible running and driving car with no known issues. All the lights and gauges work with a inop radio being the only thing we can find that is not working which is very common with these cars. This C1 starts right up and idles near instantly with no funky smells, rattles or leaks, this car is ready to be enjoyed with nothing needed at this time.
